Fire permits are required for any type of open flame; even propane stoves. You can get your fire use permit from the US Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit Forest Supervisor's Office - 35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm 530-543-2600 or 530-543-0956
